The coating, painting, cleaning, and maintenance of large-scale infrastructure such as water towers, bridges, skyscrapers, oil & gas manufacturing facilities, and ships is risky and expensive; climbers working on towers have a fatality rate that is 10 times that of construction workers.

Our patent-pending Apellix Worker Bee™ robotics modular system is made up of four main components: a mobile base station, umbilical cord and tether, autonomous drone, and proprietary software that ties it all together.

A Platform-as-a-Service that drives meaningful change, we combine a consulting approach to understanding organizational and operational problems with the capacity to deploy hard- and software solutions.

Apellix uses proprietary, hardened, industrial customized software to enable its drone-based applicators to do things drones have never done before. By combining high tech hardware with leading edge software, our drones are able to paint buildings and towers, wash windows, safely apply chemicals and more.



The painting and coatings market is valued at hundreds of billions of dollars annually ($127B globally, $25B in the US). Apellix currently focuses on the oil & gas, shipping, and Infrastructure industries, each of which we believe has an addressable market segment in excess of $2 billion dollars.

The possible applications of our platform are myriad: clean industrial equipment without exposing workers to harmful chemicals, paint bridges without the danger of workers falling, rapidly deploy shelter to disaster areas, 3D-print at tremendous scale anywhere.

John Odwazny | Shipping

Mr. Odwazny is the CEO of Chariot Robotics, with an automated flagship product that strips paint off large ships. He has been CEO, COO and Company Director for several companies and was a Senior Sales Executive at AKZO Nobel/ International Paint, the world's largest chemical and coatings company, where he designed technical specifications of surface preparation and coating applications for large marine and industrial companies. Mr. Odwazny also serves on an Advisory Committee for the National Association of Corrosion Engineers. LINK.

Mr. Bischoff is a Serial Entrepreneur, Board Member, and C-Level Executive. A partner in CompuNet Computer in Europe in the 1990’s he helped build that company to $1.5 billion in revenue before cofounding Saba Software (SABA NASDAQ) and taking it public. LINK

Andrew Rush | Science, Technical and Legal Advisor

Mr. Rush is the President of Made in Space, which amongst other things has a 3D Printer on the International Space Station. A former intellectual property and technology lawyer specializing in emerging industries, he is also a co-founder of two startups, and advises and assists early-stage companies. Bob Dahlstrom | Founder & CEO

A marathon runner, Bob knows the value of discipline, training and persistence. He founded BluePrint Data in 1998 and is the architect of its software and systems. Prior to that he was a full time faculty member at Florida State University, worked for the Florida Legislature, and worked in a clean room at AT&T Microelectronics in wafer fabrication where he wrote his first computer program in 1986. Bob is unequivocally adamant that software is “eating the world” and  is passionate about designing and create software controlled robotic systems that keep people out of harms way and save lives.

Paul Hunkin | Chief Technology Officer

Paul is an avid world traveler and adventurer and over the past decade has worked for organizations ranging from early-stage startups like SafariDesk and CleverCare to medium-sized businesses like Blueprint Data, Tangent, and Westpac Bank, all the way up to giants like Google, NASA, InfoSys, and the Chinese aerospace industry leader COMAC. As a full stack software developer he has built everything from high-performance big-data systems to complex web applications. Tariq Rashid | Chief Pilot and Engineering Lead

An aerospace engineer and a retired naval aviator with numerous missions in the Mideast and thousands of hours in fixed and rotary wing aircraft Tariq has passion for drones, robotics and a long background in electronics, focused on hardware development and integration. He has an M.S. in Modeling Simulation and Virtual Environments with a BS in Physics with multiple  certifications including the distinction of being one of the very first FAA Remote Pilots licensed under section 107. He volunteers with multiple organizations and founded two drone meetups in the Jacksonville Florida community. and brings to Apellix a disciplined and unwavering approach to safety that is incorporated into every aspect of our products and operations.

Jeff McCutcheon | Co-Founder and CFO

Mr. McCutcheon is Managing Director and co-founder of Board Advisory, LLC, a consultancy advising boards and investor groups on executive performance, succession and rewards issues.  Prior to his work advising boards, Jeff served as an executive officer at CSX Corporation and as an executive for three other Fortune 250 companies. An avid rower, he knows the critical value of working in concert as a team and creating a culture that values diversity, openness and transparancy.

DFT Drone

The Smart Bee™is a patented dry-film thickness (DFT) and surface profile measurement drone. This platform can conduct non-destructive paint thickness measurements on ferrous substrates pursuant to SSPC-PA2, producing over 100 measurements per hour without the need for cranes, scaffolding or rope work.


Painting Drone

The Worker Bee™ is a patented tethered drone-based painting platform for large scale vertical surfaces. We are currently conducting feasibility studies and developing bespoke solutions for partners.

Our initial public release expected late in Q3 2017.


Cleaning Drone

Our Worker Bee™ platform is also adaptable for no-touch cleaning of difficult-to-reach surfaces such as windows, elevated signs and promotional lighting. We are currently conducting feasibility studies and developing bespoke solutions for partners.
