CORROSION AWARENESS DAY 2021 Discover how critical the War on Corrosion is

Corrosion costs lives. Did you know that corrosion also costs us an astounding US $2.5 trillion dollars globally (3 to 4% of GDP of industrialized countries)? There is good news however, we can reduce that cost by $875 billion annually through appropriate application of existing corrosion abatement technologies.

Sadly, corrosion is also the cause of deaths. Corrosion caused a bridge in Minneapolis in the US to collapse in 2007 killing 13 and injuring 145. And while that is spectacular evidence of the problem, it is not an isolated example. Currently about 46,000 U.S. bridges are structurally deficient.
